First Kiln

In the references the kiln is referred to as a tile kiln and as a brick kiln. The occupations are always Brickmakers never Tilemakers.

Maps

The 1719 Enclosure map shows Tile Kiln Close to the north of what is now Old Kiln Lane. And the terrier shows that the tenant was John Day.

Here it is superimposed on a modern map. The boundary on the west side still exists.

A lot of tile fragments have been found in the circled area.
